About Me

Welcome. I’m Candace R. Owens, a poet, mother, and founder of Poetry Pioneer LLC, based in Kentucky, USA. Poetry has never been just words on a page for me. It has been a lifeline, a way to process life’s beauty, heartbreak, faith, and transformation. From a young age, writing became the place where my voice found strength, and my struggles found meaning.

My journey has shaped everything I create. After battling stage 5 endometriosis, enduring eight abdominal surgeries, and surviving a life-threatening medical complication in 2016, I came out of that experience changed. When you face mortality, you begin to see life differently. You start to ask deeper questions about purpose, impact, and legacy.

Before I fully understood why, I created Poetry Pioneer. I just felt called to build something centered around words, light, and connection. Over time, I realized it wasn’t random; it was alignment.

In 2024 and 2025, I published two books:

The New World Light: Poetic Affirmations to Create Heaven on Earth.
The New World Light: Awakening the Soul Through Poetry
 

One of these works received an International Impact Book Award in the poetry category, an affirmation that the message was reaching beyond borders. 

But Poetry Pioneer has grown far beyond the page. My original poems have evolved into AI-assisted songs on YouTube, reaching audiences across multiple countries, because I chose to take a chance and turn my poems into songs with technology. 

Through international poetry contests, we’ve connected writers from around the world. Through podcast conversations and cable television collaboration, including projects with Arts So Wonderful and CCTV Vermont, we’ve created platforms that uplift and amplify diverse creative voices.

The numbers are meaningful. The growth is exciting. But the heart of this work is deeper than metrics.

I believe words can heal.
I believe creativity can restore hope.
I believe technology can be used to reflect the best of our humanity.

And I believe we are not powerless in this world.

We have the ability through our choices, our words, our art, and our actions to participate in creating our own version of heaven on earth. 

Not a perfect world, but a more compassionate one. A more courageous one. A more conscious one.

Poetry Pioneer exists to remind people of that power.
